The Doll: Book Review

Hello World!
Today’s post is going to be a book review on a short story that I finished reading called The Doll by J.C Martin. Hope you enjoy!

A brief synopsis of the book is that a woman called Joyce and her young daughter Taylor go to a tourist attraction called The Island of The Dolls in Mexico, where Taylor becomes fascinated by a particular doll.

The Island of the Dolls aka Isla de las Munecas is a real place in Mexico.

Quite a lot of research was done, and included in the book. It was descriptive and interesting and had a good enough balance of creepy elements included in the book, which I liked.

As they arrive there it’s clear that Joyce is spooked out by all the dolls especially after hearing a story by the tour guide and warns her daughter not to touch the doll.

After that weird things begin to occur, and Joyce does some research even about the doll.

It was a short horror story. Check it out.

So, I give it 4 stars.

Thanks for reading,
Lizzy 🙂
