Inspiration: My Poetry♡

This post will be about how I gain inspiration for my original poetry, and why I like writing them.

Poetry is such a nice way to allow all your feelings out in such a descriptive way.

For my poetry, I usually get inspiration from many different things e.g. feelings, emotions, colours, music, other poetry and more.

And then I start writing up a poem as simple as that.

It helps me with how I feel at times, and it’s nice to know I can just take that and turn it into something positive and relaxing (poetry).

I like writing them, because I enjoy it too. 🙂

Poems are fun, and nice to read when they are written in such a descriptive and meaningful way too.

It can also be insightful in many different ways, the use of punctuation and different writing techniques; really helps bring the message of the poem out.

Gaining Inspiration: Books & Etc ☾

Hello everyone! This post is going to be about how to gain inspiration for your books and anything else, and a little insight into how I do.

1.) Reading

  • This can help so much with coming up with ideas.

If you like something, that you’ve read in a story.
Or how the plot is written in the book.
Use this to your advantage.
Take some aspects of the book – with your idea and develop it with your own imagination.

(Helps a lot, I do this at times)

2.) Music

  • You can listen to any genre of music

It can be happy, upbeat, sad and slow
However, if it helps you instantly gain an idea of how to start your story.
Then it’s good, even the song title helps with this too.

~This helps me quite a bit. 🙂

3.) Title

  • A lot of the time, I already have a book title planned.

This helps so much, already give me a feel of what I want for my book.
Even the direction that I want it to go in.
With more in depth planning this should help make it easier; for ideas to flow.

4.) Experiences
Through experiences, gaining inspiration can be easy.
Think about what experiences you’ve liked, and incorporate it into your writing.
Helps with giving you a basis of where to start from.
Also, witnessing things first-hand can be essential.
Interviews – can help too 🙂

Thank you,
Hope it helps
If I think of anymore, I’ll add it

Cover Letters:My Thoughts

Hello, everyone! This will be a post about cover letters and how they can be essential to helping get your work noticed and published, with my thoughts on the matter.

Cover letters are simply for allowing publishers & publishing companies know exactly what your story’s about, and reasons as to why it would be beneficial if they published it.

It’s also essential that your work gets received by an agent that deals with the genre of your book, for it to have better chances of being looked at.

As you don’t want it to be given to the wrong agent that represents let’s say: historical fiction if that’s not what story your genre’s written in.

This can mean that your story can be sent to the slush-pile, where a lot of books haven’t really received the chance to be looked at.

However, it’s still rather difficult to actually send off your cover letter because of many problems that ensue e.g. worry, wanting to get as much knowledge also before sending it off as well as other things.

Which are a couple: that I’m also worried about.

I have a cover letter for my book ”The Dark Side” and just have it for safe-keeping at the moment. And also this book of mine I’m currently still writing the last chapter (chapter 24) so it’s good to still have a cover letter just in case, but it’s great to continue working on your books or any writing material that you may have.

If and when I need to, I’ll also make some cover letters  for some of my other books.

If I have anything else to add to this,  I will.
For now, thanks for reading 🙂

-Yours Truly,
Lizzy

Being Creative & What’s Important: (my thoughts)

This post is about being creative, and some important aspects of it. I hope this is helpful and insightful, as it’s great to use the advantage you have of being creative.

1.) Working on your craft

This is so great, to keep focusing on what it is you want for your work.
Work hard, stay inspired and continue with trying to make it the best it can be.

2.) Ideas

With creativity, comes great ideas.
This can be used to your advantage in structuring your story-line, lyrics and more.
Especially if you are a writer, artist, animator, singer and etc.
-Keep a book, where you can draw, write and do various things.
-This can be helpful and a constant reminder, for what else it is you want too.

3.) Believing in your potential
You simply love doing it, whatever your passion may be.
Believe you can do it, as being creative and having such a creative flair is awesome.
-Never know what can happen. 🙂

4.) Love doing it: Passion
In addition to the third rule, you have to love doing what you’re doing.
Have the passion, the determination, along with the creativity to carry you.

5.) Online Platforms This can be so helpful, and a way to gain a fan-base for your work/IP.
It also helps give you an insight, into how your work will be in the chosen market.
Gives you the confidence, you need to continue with it.
Also the reassurance that people enjoy your work, and admire you.

-Get your voice heard!

Hope this helps~
It’s some of my general thoughts on the matter
Much appreciated, -Lizzy
