Fan-Girl: Book Review

Hello Everyone!
Today’s post is going to be a book review, of one of the books I read this year.

It’s Fan-Girl by Rainbow Rowell.

The book is about a girl in her freshman year of university called Cath she has an identical twin sister Wren who she used to be close with. Now Wren wants to go to parties, be more outgoing and make new friends, whereas Cath is more focused on writing her fan-fictions about Simon Snow.

Simon Snow is a fictional character, in a series of books by fictional author Gemma T. Leslie.

I liked how involved Cath was in writing her stories, she really enjoyed writing fan-fiction.

Reagan her roommate is quite rude at the start. And happens, to have a boyfriend called Levi but their relationship isn’t really depicted as being that romantic.

Levi is often waiting around their dorm room, for Reagan and often ends up talking more with Cath, who slowly starts opening up a bit more.

There were extracts from chapters of Simon Snow books, which were nice but I felt like there was too much of them, the same with long passages of extracts that Cath’s written that she reads out.

Also, there were extracts of Simon Snow fan fictions Cath has written, a few were with her sister.

Despite having anxiety, and being a lot more involved with studying and writing fan-fiction Cath is still very caring towards her sister and her dad.

The book was good, and was quite insightful and informative.

4/5 stars.

 

 

Story Directions & Etc

Hello Everyone!
This post is just some brief mention on story directions and my writing.
It will also include some other things.

My story/book ”The List” I’m currently on chapter 22 now and I really like the direction that it’s going in. I also enjoy writing it, and I still have some more ideas for this.

I have also been doing some research.

With one of my other stories I’m on chapter 7 and nearly finished with and I like the direction it’s going in too.

I’m writing a lot of my stories, and with my play I’m currently on Scene 2: Act 2 and Billy’s mum finds out that he’s left the house and is missing.

I’m writing some ideas for chapters for some of my other stories, I’ve done some for The List and probably write more. This particular story of mine may have at least 32 chapters it depends – it’s roughly what I was going for.

I may possibly add some twists, and some new characters in it. In one chapter, the two friends Jessica and Hannah meet up with another one of Annabelle’s friends that might be able to help them even more.

Chapter 21 focused on them finding out what the murder weapon is and etc.

There will also be a book review of Fan-Girl by Rainbow Rowell.

Writing & More

Hello Everyone!
Okay, so this post is about some book ideas I have and my writing too.
Some other things, will be mentioned briefly too.

My story/book The List is going really well.
I have further ideas for it so that’s good, and I’m currently on chapter 21 now.
For this it might have 32 chapters, but it depends.

I’m also on chapter 23 now of one of my stories, so that’s exciting.

I also started writing act 2: scene 3 for my play Moving On Up, which was fun.

Chapter 21 of my story The List focuses on Jessica and Hannah going to the police station to see pictures of the murder weapon with Jessica’s dad. They talk to Officer Charlie (Hannah’s cousin) and etc.

I finished chapter 3 of one of my stories/books and now I’m on chapter 4.

I’m nearly finished with chapter 7 one of my books and I also like the direction this is going in too.

With another one of my stories I’m nearly finished with chapter 5.

More Planning

Hello World!
This post is mostly about one of my stories ”The List” and how I’ve planned more ideas for some other chapters, already.

It’s really exciting, how many ideas I have for this story of mine. And I’m currently on chapter 20 now, wow. 🙂

Chapter 20 focuses on Jessica and Hannah going to the library to photocopy important information they have found so far in Annabelle’s diary, and they also try to get the coding sheet that Brett has to decipher the second code that was found in the diary.

Some other things happen in the chapter too.

I’ve also planned some ideas for the next chapter (chapter 21), 22, 23 and 24 so far.

I’m nearly finished with chapter 5 of one of my stories/books.

And yes, I still have more ideas.
Which is great! 🙂

One of my other mystery/thriller stories that consists of 21 chapters, and that I completed when I was 16 is called: The Sign of Danger. One of my stories is a sequel and I’m currently on chapter 6.

More Writing

Hello Everyone!
This post is going to be about my writing, and a brief mention on some characters from one of my books/stories.

Firstly, I’m now on chapter 19 of one of my books/stories The List. I’m happy about that and I still have ideas for more chapters, the story-line is also really good.

For the characters, I wanted two best friends that were determined to try and find clues and try their best in trying to solve the case.

And their names are Jessica and Hannah.

I also wanted to add some suspicion so Katie being one of Annabelle’s friends who gives the two friends some information to help them out. Is portrayed as being helpful and secretive even suspicious.

Hannah seems to be more weary about her, and thinks she’s suspicious and doesn’t believe everything that she says especially when it comes to Annabelle’s diary.

I wanted to create some conflicts, so in a chapter Jessica and Hannah find Brett (one of Annabelle’s ex – boyfriends) talking to someone secretly on the phone, it could be Katie McLeod.

They were both surprised because they didn’t know they knew each other, and wanted to know what sort of relationship they had e.g. friendship.

Which they try to find out possibly in chapter 19.

Jessica will possibly be Black-British, and Hannah (Caucasian/White).

This is just some.

With one of my other stories, nearly finished with chapter 6 and will be on chapter 7 soon.

Z: The Mysterious Book one of my other stories, I have ideas for and will start writing soon, still planning and possibly one of the main characters will be a tom-boy and her name may be Connie Miller.
And wears caps, with earrings and her long hair.
